Tyvek Suits

Tyvek suits, like Tyvek coveralls and overalls, are worn by men and women in a variety of industrial settings. They are often worn as items of daily work wear by people such as: mechanics, industrial workers, painters, farmers, construction workers, food processing personnel, manufacturing workers, and people working in chemical laboratories and clean rooms, etc.

Tyvek is an ideal material to make a protection suit out of as it is has excellent wear and abrasion-resistant properties. It offers the wearer protection against hazardous things such as splashes of water-based, non-corrosive acids, herbicides and pesticides, and it also forms a barrier against dry particulates such as lead dust, asbestos and radiation dust. The suits are breathable but they do not allow water vapor and bacteria to pass through them. The suits are also cut resistant.

The suits are designed to retain their shape even after frequent bending and kneeling. Tyvek suits are provided with either open wrists or with elastic wrists and ankles for added protection. Hoods and skid-resistant work boots can also be attached, along with gloves to offer full protection for people who need to be fully protected against hazardous materials. The suits are lightweight, breathable and comfortable for daylong wear. The suits also have roomy pockets and zippers and conform to ANSI/ISEA 101-1993 specifications. They can generally be ordered individually or in cases of 25.

Tyvek suits are available in a variety of sizes such as: small, medium, large, extra large, etc. Most Tyvek suits are white in color however messages, slogans and advertising messages can be printed or embossed on the suits.

It is important that you make sure the Tyvek suit you are wearing is designed to protect you against the hazardous materials that you are working with. Do not just assume that the suit is made to help protect you against all types of hazardous materials and gases, etc, as many of them are designed for specific uses. You should never wear a protective suit if it is ripped, torn, punctured or damaged in any way. You should also make sure that the protective suit fits you properly and comfortably. It is important that the suit doesn't restrict your movement in any way while you are performing your duties.
